Another Reason to Hate Vista

September 17, 2007 · 6 Comments

Working on estimated taxes, and my printer refuses to print the 1040es form even on the second try and a reboot. The computer has saved this document but it does not open despite the variety of ways I have attempted to open it. Apparently I don’t need to file due to prior withholdings at my job, but I can’t even print out a record of thisBill Gates got pie-d in the face.

I have zero forgiveness for the billionaire right now, and am trying not to think about this. I think I will go for a long walk.

UPDATE

Turns out that it helps it BOTH monitors are on in a dual monitor configuration – that way you see the “print setup” popup window.

This still does not atone for approximately 15% of my software not working on Vista.

Nate, that is pretty frustrating, but you seem to handle it well with a healthy dose of nature walks and harbored contemplation.
I think you’d appreciate a new series that my friends have started watching called “The Office.” Now that I have mentioned this to you, it may have the opposite effect, but at least I tried. It’s basically a spin-off of Office Space that pokes fun at everyday social nuances in the business world. As far as moral values go, it’s cleaner than most shows on tv now, but that still doesn’t say much. Some episodes are all clean, but then others are just lousy because anything that was funny was tainted with vulgarity – which makes me wonder why I’m recommending it.

That’s with Steve Carrell aka the 40 year old virgin aka Evan Almighty?

I am so thankful now that I didn’t switch over to Vista in the middle of my master’s project. Bad things could have happened and the project is stressful enough.

Vista’s got to go- It is a pain to use with all of its popup’s that ask for a click on “allow” or “are you sure” – and then the most frustrating, behind the system freezes, is having to convince the computer that I have the proper permissions to do what I need to do! Vista is the embodiment of frustration and aggrevation!!
