Jack Stack Challenge – IHOP 2.0 Trip

I’m packing up for the Joseph Company’s “Cities of Refuge” conference at the IHOP.

ihop

Will be in town for a shorter trip than last time – from Thursday the 18th to Sunday the 21st. I’m happy to sit down & buy CBB commenters a coffee or juice drink but have less availability for dinner… with at least one exception:

Jack Stack 2The soul who can give me a lift from the airport circa 5pm Thursday the 18th will win dinner at the fabled Jack Stack’s for him/herself and a friend/spouse/significant other. It’s the least I can do. Leave a comment to be eligible. The runner-up comments at least get a free drink in the coffeehouse.

Ironically I am also packing up for a move to the Princeton area for the new job I start immediately afterward. Been in the Philadelphia city limits for just over 1 year at this point and it looks like God’s moving me exactly halfway between Philly and New York City.

The challenge is on! Comment to win!

  1. Congrats on the new job!! Good luck.

  2. Hello retroman!

We haven’t met before, and I don’t have a blog, but I would be glad to meet you. I work in Kansas, less than an hour from the MCI airport, and I usually get off around 4:00, so I’d be happy to meet you at the airport and drive you to IHOP (after stopping at Jack Stack’s, of course).

I lived in the Philadelphia area for six years–four in college, and two working. My wife and I moved to Kansas City in August 2006 when God called us to IHOP. Having enjoyed the best of cheesesteaks and NY-style pizza, it was a bummer to leave, but at least I knew I was going to the barbecue capital of the world (or at least the USA).

Having recently been a mostly raw vegan for a period of about six months, I have a renewed appreciation for meat, especially red meat. Less headaches, more strength and energy–I’m happy to eat meat again. I think the perfect vegetarian diet might have “passed away” when Adam and Eve left the Garden. Perhaps, we’ll see it resurface in the Millenial Kingdom.

I actually have yet to eat at Jack Stack’s, although I’ve enjoyed BBQ delicacies at Zarda’s and Planet Sub. So, you would be the first to take me there. My wife won’t be able to come, but I might be able to find a friend who’s willing to tag along for a free meal (or, I could just come on my own and save you a few bucks).

Let me know if you’re interested. Blessings!

  3. Zeeker, looks like you have won yourself some BBQ! Three’s company, two’s a crowd, so I suggest you bring a buddy or someone you owe a favor to, or somebody else from Philly!

OK, Stack’s is up, but who’s ready for coffee?

  4. Very cool! Looking forward to it!

  5. I’m up for some coffee – if the offer is still open.

  6. Coffee you shall have! Who else is in?

  7. Retroman,

I am so disappointed on so many fronts…I will be gone. I leave for Seattle tomorow…fly there and driving back with a friend. Honestly, if I am in town and you need a ride again…I am your ride. (Meal/coffee optional but not necessary)
