Off to The Call Tomorrow

Heading down on a $15 bus ticket to The Call tomorrow. I am gonna do what I can to own up to our collective failure as a country to stay faithful to the principles of the founding fathers, based upon the Bible, Judeo-Christian values, and tolerance of people to follow their own conscience. We have deviated from that, and many of us who do try to follow the Bible are just assuming that God is supposed to fix the situation. God is sovereign but his nature often requires people to go out of their way to intercede for the majority. So that’s what a bunch of people are doing tomorrow. We’re bringing our water so we don’t dehydrate, but we’re gonna fast and pray.

Just watched an hour of C-SPAN footage of The Call’s press conference featuring Lou and Mike Huckabee among others. Refreshing.

Spotted After Uprising Conference

Went to see Lou Engle and others in CT this weekend.

Weird sightings on the drive home, I think God is trying to tell all eastbound travellers something –

1. Lordship, exit 8 – road sign

2. Defend our heritage – billboard

3. Wordin – road sign

there was also a OneThing billboard with the same font. It was for energy conservation though.

Thanks to everyone involved, I was so thankful that Lou, Allen Hood, and the many others travelled to the east coast to impart this stuff here.

Thoughts About Iowa

Watching the caucus returns. A few thoughts:

1. Huckabee and Chuck Norris currently have a 9% lead over the pack, 85% reporting. They just showed up for a victory speech too.

2. This is JUST A PRIMARY! These thing barely got coverage when I was first following these political things. The media is treating this as if it is “Super Tuesday” or a party nomination. We are all in for a long, grueling haul.

3. If you were at or watching The Call Monday, people prayed this in, I am convinced. This guy called an Esther fast specifically for a candidate who was pro-life to emerge. I’m not proud to admit that my first reaction was to get offended, since I am just not able or willing to go on that type of fast – I’m not in that league, nor do I think that it would be safe for me to do so right now, especially with zero notice. So a lot of people particularly in the midwest have been praying and fasting in extreme ways to release grace for a candidate who defends life.

4. A bunch of people in my circles who love God and the unborn have written Huckabee off previously as “unelectable”. A prominent televangelist endorsed a pro-choice, pro-alternative marriage Republican nominee months ago. I am also convinced that aside from some serious divine favor Huckabee is unelectable, because I don’t think the Republican party gives much of a rip about defending life or decency, as evidenced a year ago – unless you are talking about the war on terror. East coast Republicans to a large degree seem to be willing to just support someone with an anti-life, anti-traditional agenda, as long as he can fight terrorism.

I’m convinced that the people who are willing to go without their basic needs for 3 days are on to something. The rest of us can be “practical” or we can cry out for God to set up a leader that would reflect his heart. And if you can skip a couple meals to pray for someone with godly values to be raised up as a leader, the better. I don’t suggest that you go without water unless you hear from God, however.

5. This looks too clear-cut for me to believe. But it is just Iowa, another 49 states to go. For a pro-life, traditional marriage candidate to succeed anywhere outside the midwest will definitely require the hand of Providence. It requires peoples’ hearts to change. Otherwise I think people here on the east coast are likely to riot. I’d like to do what I can to pray and ask for God to have mercy via some righteous leaders.

6. I’m also a big believer that God might just be pleased to give us someone who does NOT stand for godly principles, in order to test the church –

  • Are we willing to bless and pray for a president who many would consider an “enemy”?
  • Do we believe God can change the heart of a ruler?
  • Will we go to sleep again should God raise a godly president?
  • Is it possible for someone with such a wild rise to remain humble & teachable?

Fasten your seat belt. Personally, I think Chuck Norris will make a great Secretary of Defense, what with those roundhouse kicks and all.

The Call – KC

It’s 4pm on the east coast, 9 more hours left to login to and watch The Call. It is really intense – I went to Nashville for that event, this is very intense.

Everyone is crying out “LIFE” for the past 30 minutes. I’m thinking we need to start crying out for people’s hearts to be convicted as this legislation is passed. That will be a greater battle than just getting a law passed. I can’t imagine how people will respond if God doesn’t convict them once righteous laws are passed.

Now they’ve got the little kids praying… it’s just like Jesus Camp, minus the skewed filmmaker bias. What group is better to pray for LIFE than the generation that could have been terminated 4, 5, 6 years ago? Perhaps these kids understand the dynamic better than us adults.

Unofficial “The Call” in Philly this Friday

Anybody who took part in The Call Nashville via attendance or active webcast participation is welcome to join a handful of us this Friday night, 7-10pm – location TBD soon. Informal worship, prayer, impartation, and fasting is what’s on the menu.

good ole philadelphiaWe have got to bring the “seal of Love” to the “City of Love” and build each other up. We have got to stick together from now on!  I can feel the impact of Saturday getting more elusive already, but we can cultivate this thing locally. Struggles that I have had for decades have been winnable this week. Something happened on Saturday and I am not gonna let this wear off!

Marketplace Prayer List

My prayer list is growing. Want to help me out?

I’m not really a “prayer list” kind of guy, but there are a few important situations I have got to address frequently.

1. At the Call, there was a great deal of attention given to adoption. Yesterday when consulting one of my clients, I learned he will be adopting a Guatemalan baby near the end of the year. Her name is Marlene.

Due to the political climate down there, a strong possibility exists for complications and last minute problems, both naturally and at the hands of unscrupulous people.

I told Jeff that his situation just made it on my prayer list. The best thing about this is that Jeff has not yet found Yeshua to my knowledge, but is wrestling with his need for atonement, despite the Temple not being in working order. He doesn’t buy the solution of many of his orthodox friends who are just trying to follow as many rules and laws as possible.

A great example of God breaking into my marketplace -we have had some great discussions. So please pray for this adoption situation with Marlene.

2. I am relatively new to my career field, and had been asking God hard for a mentor in my new field. God answered and I ended up partnering with Noel on a project for a client. What a great way to learn, by making money at the same time.

About a month ago I find out that she, like a former pastor and also a notable prophet, has been diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer. Chemo starts within this week.

This is completely unacceptable. I am not going to sit around when the enemy tries to take out or slow down my mentor right after God positions her to teach me so much. I realize many of you reading this have never had a firsthand experience of seeing God halt or completely eradicate cancer in response to prayer, even though you have prayed just as much.

I have seen this happen several times, and to be frank about it, the healing result has been a significant minority of cases. But I would like the scales to tip in favor of a majority of situations healed.

Anyhow please join me in confident prayer for Noel.

3. By the way, Uncle Bruce has been driving his car around. 40 days ago, he had a horrible accident, concussion, and shattered shoulder. However he hasn’t been sleeping well at all so we can pray for God’s rest to come back to him.

The Call Fallout Part 1

I’ve got client work right now, but a short post for anyone out there.

My primary question for most of the people on the platform who fasted up to 41 days including Saturday’s event:

I went down to the floor when they called for pastors and leaders to come forward. I stayed on the floor of the stadium for about 60 minutes maybe, before they made the announcement about DRINKING WATER, and realized that I was really getting dehydrated. So I got some water for everybody and gave as many as I could away randomly throughout the day. I spent $40 on water Saturday. They were bilking us at $3 a pop. I had a heat headache much of the day and was really needing to take it easy.

Anyhow, my point is that I skipped a few meals perhaps leading up to this, but most speakers and many worship leaders had been fasting 40 or 41 days. Supernatural, just like much of what happened Saturday. Oh yeah, and Michael W Smith showed up and prayed for healing rain on Philadelphia. I was shocked! I am liking him more and more.

Gearing Up for the Call, Part II

Well, it has been awhile since I took a road trip at all. Today certainly qualified!

From suburban philly to 25 miles north of Nashville took us 15 hours. It took me another hour before I made it to the departure. I am beat. I am a bit nervous for what tomorrow holds. I’m also anxious about some client work I will be thrust into upon my return.

Was able to catch 10 free minutes alone in my hotel room to pray about this stuff and realize these are really God’s issues, and I am the one with the easy burden.

My church of about 80 has about 20-25 people down here. Almost all of them are youth and I’m not sure they know what they are about to get into. This is going to be great tomorrow.

My cell phone charger is nowhere to be found, so that just about kills my hopes of contacting others while down in the stadium… Drat.
