You know that little smiley face in the top right corner of your blog? Well I thought it was something on my computer so I kept trying to wipe it off with my finger. Come to realize it’s just another addition to the page.
WordPress is a little bit strange sometimes! I think they talk about it on their FAQ.
Do IHOP’ers really go to the extreme of “fasting” from conversation? Just curious, I have a friend there that I ALMOST never hear from????
I have a friend involved with IHOP and the Call. She’s obsessed with fasting and I believe she is anorexic. Does anyone know of other young people who have suffered from eating disorders related to an excess of fasting? I’m not against fasting per se, I just think the emphasis on it lately has been a bit excessive and potentially problematic for young people already struggling with body image issues.
I have heard this issue addressed by some of the leaders there via podcast/church services. A proper understanding of fasting and the mandate for it will address these important side issues. Most American believers would definitely agree with your statement about “excessive emphasis”… but then again most western believers tend not to fast until their back is against the wall.
